Dear
Colleague:
Lord Darzi, MD
is the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for
Health in the UK, a health system
reformist, one of the world's leading
surgeons -- and a Plenary
Session Speaker at the Tenth
Armenian Medical World Congress
(AMWC09), July 1-4,
2009. Professor Darzi, who was
knighted in 2002 and elevated to the peerage in
2007, is a visionary who conducted a wide-ranging
review of Britain's National Health Service.
The ensuing report, High Quality Care
for All, recommends dramatic changes to
ensure the NHS is clinically led, patient-centered
and locally accountable. A pioneer in
the areas of minimally invasive surgery and
robotic surgery, Lord Darzi holds the Paul Hamlyn
Surgery Chair at Imperial College,
London. Lord Darzi will be speaking
on Thursday July 2 at the Plenary Session on
Comparative Health Care Systems.
Professor Darzi is just one of the
prominent leaders and experts who will come
to New York to AMWC09 to form lasting collegial
relationships with Congress attendees from 10
nations and 5 continents.
Already, AMWC09 is a resounding
success! Well over 260 accomplished health
professionals are committed.
You can't miss
