Dr. Debra Ann Ferman graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Biology, graduated with General Honors and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She completed her medical degree at the New York University School of Medicine and a residency in internal medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she was the recipient of the Humanism and Professionalism Award. She completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at North Shore University Hospital. She is the author of two book chapters on thrombocytopenia, published in the Oncologist journal and currently works on staff at the Queens Cancer Center in Jamaica, N.Y. She has participated in four Medical Missions to Armenia and is a valued member of the AAHPO family. In her off time she enjoys travelling, reading history and writing. Her favorite writer is Orhan Pamuk.
