WHO CAN JOIN AAHPO?
Anyone. We are an organization with a strong base of individuals of Armenian descent that have a background in various healthcare fields, however, we welcome all individuals interested in making a difference in their local communities as well as helping those in Armenia.

IS THERE A ROLE FOR NON-HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS?
Yes! Anyone can join AAHPO and help support activities such as Community forums, Medical missions, Disease Prevention workshops, Health screenings, Marathons, etc. All you need is a willingness to support our vision and goal to make a difference.

Can donations be made to the Armenian American Health Professionals Organization?
Yes. The Armenian American Health Professionals Organization (AAHPO), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Can donations be made in memory or in honor of a person?
Yes. Donations can be made in memory or in honor of a person. The donation letter should include the name of the person who is being remembered or honored, plus the name(s) and address(es) of the individual(s) (honoree, spouse, or family member) to be notified of the donation. Dollar amounts are not included in the letter of acknowledgement.

Can donations be deducted on income tax?
Yes. Donations to the Armenian American Health Professionals Organization are deductible for income, gift, and estate tax purposes under the Internal Revenue Code.

How can donations be made to the Armenian American Health Professionals Organization?

A donation letter should be sent along with the check or money order indicating what the donation is to be used for. AAHPO will send an acknowledgement letter of the gift if the name and address of the donor is provided. Dollar amounts are not included in the letter of acknowledgement. The donation letter should include the following information:

Company Name (if applicable)
Street Address
City, State, and ZIP Code

Can donations be made in memory or in honor of a person?
Yes. Donations can be made in memory or in honor of a person. Can donations be made for a specific project?
All donations are used for AAHPO projects as determined by the AAHPO Board of Directors. However, a donation can be designated for a certain project and this request should be made in the donation letter.

How are donations used?
Donations are deposited in the AAHPO Gift Fund and used for special projects in support of Armenians in the US and Armenia. Projects supported through the Gift Fund vary from year to year depending on recommendations and assessments made by AAHPO Members, Project Committees and Board of the Directors. Projects that have been supported through the Gift Fund include special fellowships to train medical students, equipment for Armenian Medical Clinics, and workshops and conferences on subjects of special importance to the Armenian community. Donations are also used for the AAHPO “Charity Care” which is used to assist patients in financial need (donations can designated for AAHPO Charity Care for this purpose).
