Dr. Kasabian is a graduate of the Boston University Fellowship in Female Urology and Urodynamics under Drs. Krane, Siroky, Staskin, and Bauer of Boston Children’s Hospital in 1991. He was born and raised in New York City and attended Armenian and Sunday School of the Holy Cross Armenian Church in New York City and the Armenian Church of the Holy Martyr’s in Bayside, New York. He was later President of the ACYOA and a Sunday School Teacher at Holy Martyr’s. He also served on the Parish Council of the Armenian Church of the Holy Martyr’s from 2000-2004.
During his training in Boston, he was a member of the Boston area Armenian-American Medical Association. Upon his return to New York with the world-wide events of the earthquake in Armenia and its independence in 1991, he realized New York lacked of an organization formany years.
Together with the help and guidance of Dr. John Nercessian and Mr. Khoren Nalbandian, AAHPO was born. Over the last ten years under the phenomenal leadership of Dr. Lawrence Najarian and Board members, it has become a world class organization that has reached unbelievable heights and goals.
Dr. Kasabian was one of the members in preparing the Mission Statement, served as AAHPO’s third President, and was instrumental in organizing the first membership meeting at The Armenian Presbyterian Church in Paramus, New Jersey.
In addition he helped organize multiple health fairs and led a panel discussion on “Legal Issues on Health Care” at the Hekemian Center of the Hackensack University Medical Center.
During his 23 years in urology he has trained over 100 residents in many programs in the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas. He also has served as the Director of Urology at Staten Island University Hospital and most recently was the Director of the UroGynecology Fellowship Program of Cooper University Hospital at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
He has published in peer-reviewed journals, written book chapters, and presented at national meetings in podium and poster sessions. He has participated in many clinical trials and has collaborated with scientists in writing basic science and clinical research grants. He presently is in a multispecialty group in the Hudson Valley that will soon merge with the Mt. Kisco Medical Group, making it one of the largest private groups in the State of New York.
